Ms. Bhama Sridharan
Theme: Weather station - 1 and 2
Ms. Bhama Sridharan has M.E. in Computer Science from IISc Bangalore, MS in Computer Science from McGill University Canada. She has been working as a software consultant/engineer for various IT companies. She initiated the science club at IISc for children in the age group 5-13 years in 1999.
Program Description: The weather station module presents a set of experiments that can be used to forecast weather. Temperature, wind speed and direction, cloud movement and type, air pressure, humidity and dew point are some of the key factors affecting weather. The children will use a thermometer to record daily temperatures, build and use an anemometer to track wind speed, build a wind vane to determine the wind direction and make a nephoscope to document cloud movement and type. Concepts of air pressure, dew point and humidity will be illustrated. This module ends with some general rules to predict weather changes.

Dr. N. Sai Bhaskar Reddy
Theme: Ecology & Ecosystem, Climate change aspects and Energy Experiments
Dr. N. Sai Bhaskar Reddy, CEO, GEO, Environment, Climate Change, Energy and Development Specialist, India. http://www.e-geo.org | http://www.goodstove.com
GEOECOLOGY ENERGY ORGANISATION [GEO] is a registered public charitable trust formed by people who have been closely associated with the work of various institutions involved in environmental, climate change, natural and human resources - agriculture, terra preta, water, energy, sustainable livelihoods, disaster mitigation and response, and information and communication technology.
Program Description: The tools used for explaining the concepts are:
A glass aquarium - ecosystem, ecology, green house effect
Terra preta kit to explain carbon sequestration - as a mitigation and adaptation to global warming. That is using charcoal from the wasted biomass adding to the soil and other amendments made for improving the fertility of the soils and also addressing the carbon sequestration.
Energy - The oil peak will be explained, biomass as renewable energy explained using flow charts and presentation. Demonstration of Magh-1 woodgas stove as highly efficient use of biomass. Generation of energy from garbage and other wasted biomass.
Children would be asked to do practical during the workshops.

BCIL Al Tech Foundation & Ms. Janani
Theme:Energy Efficiency through games
Program design: By BCIL Al Tech Foundation
BCIL Alt Tech Foundation has done many pioneering works in the areas of energy, water, green buildings, afforestation, air and waste. It strives to bring to people the awareness of how we all can collectively make a difference to the planet by learning to crossover to better ways of living which hurts the planet less.
Program Description: Our holiday with fossil fuels is slowly coming to an end. We have in just a very short number of years managed to pump enough green house gases in the atmosphere too raising global temperatures to an alarming high. Its time we woke up and geared ourselves up to face our future and found solutions that retain peace, equity and prosperity for all life forms on our planet. How will our children handle this mess we will leave behind? How can we enable children to be aware of these solutions much before they need to face them to grapple with them when they take on this world in a few decades from now? Send your children over to learn this in a fun way through a Treasure Hunt put up by BCIL Alt Tech Foundation in collaboration with Anubhava Science Centre to learn How Energy Savvy you and your kids are.
PS: There would be a treasure for each child. We do not believe in competition.
Ms. Geetha Arvind and Ms. Sharada Arun
Theme: Anubhava Science Sessions
Program Description: For 7-12 yrs children, experiments are kept topic wise on various topics like air, water, light, magnets, static electricity, electricity, music, kitchen experiments, Plants etc covering the basic fundamental concepts to many more. Children can choose any topic and based on their level of understanding of the concepts they can choose the experiments and perform. All the materials required to perform experiments will be provided.
Anubhava Science Sessions endeavors to nurture the capacity for inquiry and learning is based on asking questions guiding the children in finding the answers themselves. This method helps children develop important skills such as careful observation, reasoning, critical thinking, and the ability to justify the existing knowledge.
Children are encouraged to express the experiment through drawing. Before the summer program ends, each child will be explained the concepts of those experiments he or she has done if they are not explored.
For 5-7 yrs children, the experiments are demonstrated, questions are asked to trigger child's mind to think and prepare child's mind to absorb the explanation.
Scientific explanations are provided and each child is given a set to perform the experiment by himself or herself. A questionnaire worksheet is provided to each child with either multiple choice questions or yes or no types with questions around that experiment. Children will be asked to draw the experiment and help is provided wherever needed.

Ms. Joyita
Theme: Birth of Universe and Us
Ms. Joyita has a Master's degree in Language from Presidency college of Calcutta. She was attached to an orphan home for 16 years. She has done her Montessori Pre-Primary and Primary courses. She is currently working as a head mistress in Chitrakoota educational vision.
Program Description: The birth of universe and life will be explained to children through stories and simple experiments/activities wherever applicable. The stories will be on the topics: Story of the Universe, The story of Life on Earth through Era's, Story of Life - Bacteria, Formation of Cell.
Mr. Madhukar
Theme: Science Models and Practical applications
Mr. Madhukar has a Master's from BITS Pilani. He was instrumental in setting up the first private ISP in India (Mantra Online). Currently he and his wife head two business - Construction and Plantation. They specialize in organic farming and have one of the largest holdings (over 300 acres).
Madhukar's hobby is making scale models of ships and racing cars. He keeps experimenting with various projects. Currently he is working on generating power out of kitchen waste. He has set up a pilot plant in his house. He is also building a 35 cubic meter plant in his estate for the same purpose.
Program Description: Use of Science Models to help understand the practical applications of Air, Water, Vibrations, Magnets (7-12 only), Making Compost, Electricity (7-12 only).
Generating electricity/ups from pipe water/running water. The objective of this experiment is to demonstrate how electricity can be generated by using condemned automobile alternator. This is very useful in remote areas. Demonstrate the movement of vehicles through air - explain impellers/expellers.

Ms. Bindu Sharma
Theme: Understanding Biology using experiments & Microscopic observations
Ms. Bindu Sharma is a post graduate in microbiology and practicing patent law.
She has worked in premium academic institutes and industries in India such as National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Jubilant Biosys Pvt Ltd, Bangalore
Program Description:
"Biology through experiments and microscopic observations" consists of set of experiments that help children understand basic processes of life such as
Growth of plants and what plants need to grow (water, air, soil),
Seed germination,
Growth of fungus on bread,
Microscopic observation of micro organisms,
why plants grow towards sunlight etc.
All these experiments will be demonstrated in a very simple manner so that the child can easily connect these processes to his/her day today life.
